Throughout the course of our lives, we are taught to find our purpose, what we want to do for a career, who we want to be, and what legacy we want to leave all so that we can be viewed by the world as someone of importance, someone contributing to the planet for the benefit of the greater good and to reach our potential. But, I can’t help thinking that the reason the world is so disconnected from each other and that people are so disconnected from themselves is because the expectation of what life should look like from the outside has left our lights dimming. That the powerhouse that generates our light and strength from within is overworked and on overdrive and feeding external power sources.
I have often thought of the work that I do like a flashlight; shining a light on a path that others can’t see, the options they have, the hope they can’t envision when in such a dark place, and a guide at the front of the walk leading the way until you are comfortable to take the next steps on your own. And then I heard the lighthouse analogy. Lighthouses are there to direct ships and boats at night away from danger and as a maker of direction and safety. Shining brightly for the benefit of others. By dimming its light it could cause others great stress and loss of direction. Some of us are lighthouses and the brighter we shine the greater our reach and the more we can be of service to others. Sometimes our lights go out for various reasons but that doesn’t mean you should be scared to shine brightly again. People need you. Bring all your energy home to you and your heart and remember why you are here: To feed your soul with love and joy, expand your consciousness, dream bigger, and better, and shine brighter than you have ever done before. A lighthouse will guide you home. Home to your truth, your heart, your essence, your light where you will remember that YOU ARE YOUR PURPOSE.
